There has been much misunderstanding of what it is to live with the spirit. Enlightenment is the goal of the spirit, but what does it mean to be enlightened? What is the proper way of living a Spiritual life? Does our resistance to preserve our accumulated ideas about ourselves from others cloud our minds to our freedom and growth?
Enlightenment has a diverse meaning depending on one's own understanding. Personally speaking, what is Enlightenment in my own vocabulary? It's a common sense that in order to find what I'm actually looking for, I must have a precise idea of what it is that I'm searching for. In order to do this I needed to ask the right questions. Because asking is the way of knowing and believing without asking is the dead end of ignorance.
So what is it actually that I'm seeking for on my venture of Enlightenment? I am looking for the freedom to be myself. The actual person who I really am and not the invented me due to the programming of the system and my beliefs. To simplify what is becoming my actual self is, is to say that I want to be free from my ego. The false identity which exists and fights to reserve itself due to my thought is affecting me to not be my higher self.
The second important question for me to ask is, Why do I need to look for myself? I need to find myself in order to lead it to live the life I intended to live. Habit or daily repetition is a great factor affecting me to be in control of myself, I've been taken away like a log on the water moving with the flow of influence and desire. To clarify this venturesome act is to say it as looking for the purpose of life.
Enlightenment for me is getting rid of my ignorance for self-leadership. The spirit needs to be nurtured by the self. Only through spirituality or my personal experience of divinity that I can develop the authentic self within me. Consciousness is the deeper meaning of the Spirit when analyzed. Using intellect and will, with balance to walk that tightrope of life towards success, is essential to being conscious. The meaning of being spiritual is to live with our full potential.
In this reality created by ideas and energy, will without intellect is recklessness and intellect without a will is just a dream waiting to happen. Living our lives is like walking the tightrope with the mistakes and rightful acts that we conduct ourselves. Our decisions might lead us to our failure or success.
Most of us don't know what we truly are capable of due to the belief that we think of ourselves or the ego. For others might be an inborn or suffered disability due to accidents, but to stop them to function to live is a spiritual imprisonment. Full potential is the ability to push the limit to do the extraordinary things that we don't know we are able to do.
Conformity has always been the common explication of being spiritual. The meaning of being good in today's normality is the accepted behavior, according to the rules provided by those who are in control. Hidden behind the maintenance of morality is the implanting of fear to stop us from becoming more. We are not in control of ourselves by obeying something we are not in conscious of.
The use of our brain to think of our lives is very important being with the spirit. The ability to use logic to make sense of things and to have the power to decide which is the best action to take to not be a bad person is more justifiable than always being told what to do for our own sake. Reasoning is essential of being spiritual.
There is a big difference between rationality and morality. Rationality is the use of reason as the light of our life in the dark path of our destiny due to our darkened vision which are produced by our emotional reactions. Morality is the use of sets of rules that we follow in order to be good. Morality is more compatible with the use of emotional intelligence.
Reason is the divine gift of consciousness; God speaks to mankind innate within us. Thus, living with the spirit is being conscious and being able to function directed by ourselves. Knowing ourselves is the absolute meaning of Enlightenment. Preserving the ideas of ourselves that we have learned outside is stopping us to better ourselves. Our ego is making sure of its security, it is producing fear of change.
